15th-17th July 2011 - The Devon 7s Charity Rugby Tournament

THE MAIN EVENT
On the weekend of the 16-17 July the inaugural Devon Rugby 7s will take place in aid of the Rugby Charity The Wooden Spoon. Bruce Priday of the Wooden Spoon says "We are looking forward to a fantastic weekend of rugby and hope to see 32 teams from around the country compete for over £2,000 in prizes".

The event has the full backing of the RFU and world cup winner Jason Leonard OBE will kick off proceedings. "I was delighted to give my support for this fantastic event and I hope that David and Naomi raise a considerable amount of money for the Wooden Spoon".

ENTER A TEAM
To enter a team one representative must complete the form below and submit via email, fax or post along with the total amount payable for the whole team. Minimum of 10 players per team.
All teams will need to be insured before competing under RFU rules and regulations and any teams who are not insured can find details of how to get cover here.
Please download and keep a copy of the rules and issue to all members of the team prior to the tournament. The Entry Fee is £100 per team (£10 per player) We are encouraging teams to come and camp for the festival from Friday night to Sunday 15th to 17thJuly

TICKETS
Tickets are now on sale direct from the website or via ticket master, see tickets and other major ticket agencies. Spectators can book tickets at a price of £5 per day. Team Entries are £100 per team (£10 per person subject to a minimum of 10 players.  For example if you enter a team of 9 players the price it £100 or if you submit a team of 12 players the price would be £120).

EVENING ENTERTAINMENT
An added attraction for players and spectators alike is an open-air concert at the Airfield on the Saturday night (16th) when Marcia Barrett of the 70s band Boney M will be flying in from Berlin to perform. Boney M had 12 hits in the 70s and sold over 50 million records worldwide Marcia is really looking forward to the event "I have played in major venues throughout the world but playing at a village airfield, this is a first for me". We have a great line up with The Kixx an exciting new band, they are raising stars in England, and  are currently touring the UK with Olly Murs. We also have the welcome return of disco funk band The Funking Barstewards, Back by popular demand.
